How the Qualification is Delivered

1. Enrolment

An induction date and time will be proposed for the candidate. There are two methods for carrying out the induction: remotely via video link or on-site/company premises. For those who opt for remote inductions, the portfolio will be sent to them prior to their induction date. During the induction, the candidate will meet the assessor and complete any necessary forms for their qualification. The assessor will explain how the programme operates and what the candidate needs to produce, while also providing an opportunity for the candidate to ask questions.

2. Reviews

Formal candidate reviews are scheduled every month for the first three months, and then every two months thereafter. These reviews can be conducted face-to-face or via video link. During the review the assessor will discuss the evidence submitted, assess the evidence, provide feedback, and answer any queries the candidate may have. A review form will be completed by the assessor, providing details about what has been assessed and completed, including an updated action plan for their next review. This form will then be emailed directly to both the employer and candidate. To assist the candidate, they may submit their evidence and knowledge questions to their assessor prior to their review date.

3. On-site Observations

On-site observations are an excellent way to demonstrate your technical competence, ensuring that you adhere to industry standards of health and safety as well as practical skills /technical knowledge. This reliable, independent evidence can help to reduce the amount of other evidence needed and the time spent completing the qualification. Site observations are typically scheduled towards the end of the qualification program and are conducted at the engineer's place of work.

4. Certification

Once the candidate has finished compiling their portfolio, it will undergo a final assessment. Seleta's IQA Officer will then review and submit the application for certification. An electronic certificate will be emailed to the employer, while the original hardcopy will be sent to the candidate via post.
